Nintendo Switch HAC 001-01

The Nintendo Switch HAC-001(-01) – also known as the “V2” – is the revised version of the original Nintendo Switch and, compared with the first model, above all offers significantly improved battery life and a more efficient processor. It is the most versatile console on the market: home console, handheld and couch multiplayer device in one – and you can switch between them in seconds.

At the heart of the console is the idea of seamlessly switching between three play modes: in TV mode you simply place the Switch in the included dock and play in up to 1080p Full HD on your TV. In tabletop mode you fold out the integrated stand, place the console on any table and play with two players using the detached Joy-Cons – no additional accessories required. In handheld mode you simply take the Switch with you, attach the Joy-Cons to the sides and play on the go on the 6.2-inch HD touchscreen with 1280 × 720 pixels.

Compared with the first model, the HAC-001(-01) uses the more efficient NVIDIA Tegra X1+ processor, built on a 16 nm manufacturing process – the result is battery life of 4.5 to 9 hours depending on the game, significantly more than its predecessor. This means the console easily lasts through longer journeys, train rides or afternoons of gaming. It is conveniently charged via USB-C – also compatible with standard chargers. The 32 GB of internal storage can be expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card, giving your entire digital game library plenty of room.

The included Joy-Con controllers are the real heart of the Switch experience: they can be used in countless ways – individually as a compact mini controller for spontaneous two-player fun, combined in the controller grip for a classic gaming feel, or attached directly to the console in handheld mode. Each Joy-Con features an analogue stick, motion controls, HD Rumble for haptic feedback and an IR motion camera on the right controller, which enables new, creative gaming experiences. amiibo figures are also supported directly via the NFC function in the right Joy-Con.

The Nintendo Switch is home to one of the strongest game catalogues of all – with exclusive franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Pokémon, Splatoon and Metroid, which are only available on Nintendo consoles. Games can be bought and downloaded digitally via the Nintendo eShop, and Nintendo Switch Online also gives you online multiplayer, cloud saves for game progress and access to a growing library of classic NES and SNES games. Connectivity is fully covered with Wi-Fi (802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.1, USB-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
