Despite the 5.8-inch display, the iPhone X's casing is smaller than that of the iPhone 8, which only has a 5.5-inch display. Apple achieves this by seamlessly merging the X's display into the casing frame. This means that the screen takes up the entire front of the device. The iPhone X is still handy, though. Because of the resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels, Apple calls the panel a "Super Retina Display." The iPhone X's 5.8-inch display therefore offers more resolution than many full HD TVs at 40 inches or more. And its OLED panel offers stronger colors and contrasts - black is really black on the iPhone X and not dark gray.

Apple had already installed the first dual camera in the iPhone 7 Plus - but never one as good as in the iPhone X. Both the wide-angle and telephoto lenses now have an optical image stabilizer, which makes it much easier to take blur-free photos. While the dual camera on the back has a resolution of 12 megapixels, the front camera offers a good 7 megapixels. The highlight for selfies, but also for other subjects, is the portrait mode. This uses the Face ID sensors that Apple has equipped the iPhone X with. This allows you to simulate different lighting situations - such as stage or studio lighting.
