Description
The Apple AirPods (3rd generation) with MagSafe Charging Case are Apple's wireless in-ear headphones for everyday use – compact, comfortable and packed with features previously found only in more expensive models. The new design, improved battery life and Personalised Spatial Audio make them the ideal companion for music, podcasts, phone calls and more.
The design has been completely reworked compared with the previous generation: the stem is 33% shorter than on the 2nd-generation AirPods, and the contoured shape sits in the ear at a slight angle – more comfortable and more secure than before, even when worn for longer periods. The integrated force sensor in the stem allows intuitive control of music and calls by pressing – play/pause, skipping tracks and answering calls with one or more presses.
The highlight is Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking: gyroscopes and accelerometers in the AirPods track your head movements in real time and position the sound so that it always seems to come from the right direction – right in the middle of the song, right in the middle of the scene. The result is a three-dimensional, immersive listening experience for music, films and series. Adaptive EQ uses inward-facing microphones to continuously analyse the sound in your ear and automatically tunes the low and mid frequencies to the individual shape of your ear – for detailed, balanced sound without manual adjustments.
Battery life is up to 6 hours on a single charge – one hour more than the predecessor. With the included MagSafe Charging Case, you get a total of up to 30 hours of playback. Just 5 minutes in the case provides around one hour of additional playback or talk time – ideal for anyone in a hurry. The MagSafe Charging Case can be charged wirelessly on any MagSafe or Qi-compatible charging pad – no cable needed.
Both the AirPods and the charging case are IPX4-rated against sweat and water – no problem in the rain, during intense sport or sweaty workouts. Setup could not be easier: take them out of the case once and they connect instantly to your iPhone or iPad. Automatic switching between Apple devices, in-ear detection (the AirPods recognise whether they are in your ears or not), Siri voice control and Audio Sharing with a second pair of AirPods round off the experience. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
