Description
The TCL Movetime MT48X is a kids' smartwatch that gives parents what matters most in everyday life: knowing where their child is, being able to reach them at any time and being able to act immediately in an emergency – all controlled simply and clearly via a single app.
The most important feature is dual-band GPS positioning with L1+L5 and an update rate of one second – one of the most precise GPS standards you will find in a kids' smartwatch. Because it uses two frequency bands at the same time, positioning is far less susceptible to interference in dense cities, shopping centres or when visibility is poor – parents see their child's location in real time, reliably and without long delays. Individual safe zones can be set up via the TCL Connect app, and as soon as the child leaves one of them, the parents are notified immediately.
For emergencies, the watch has a dedicated SOS button: a single press sends an emergency call to predefined contacts and shares the current location at the same time. The 4G LTE connection enables video calls, VoLTE voice calls, voice messages, text messages and group chat – directly from the watch, without a smartphone. Only the parents decide who may communicate with the child. Children can add new contacts using the "Shake to Add" function – of course only after explicit approval by the parents in the app.
The 1.68-inch TFT colour display with 360 × 390 pixels and animated watch faces is fun and easy to read. The 2 MP front camera enables video calls and sharing photos with the family. In School Mode, the camera, games, chats and notifications are automatically disabled – the SOS function always remains active. A built-in step counter, alarm clock and calendar help children structure their day in a playful way. The AI Image Creator – available with parental approval – lets children create their own images and encourages creativity in a child-friendly way.
The 900 mAh battery lasts up to 2.5 days with normal use and up to 7 days in standby mode. The watch is certified to IP68 and 2ATM – fully waterproof when swimming, splashing about and in the rain. Weighing 55 g, it sits comfortably even on small wrists. Communication and data storage comply with GDPR, ISO 27701 and ISO 27001 standards.
