Backbone One USB-C Controller (2nd Generation)

The Backbone One USB-C controller (2nd generation) turns your smartphone into a fully fledged games console – compact, comfortable and always within reach. Its slim design sits comfortably in your hands and slips easily into any bag, without giving up a real console feel.

The biggest upgrade in the second generation is the new magnetic adapter system. Two different adapter sets are included and can be swapped or removed in seconds – so the controller fits a much wider range of smartphones and even works with many common phone cases. Your phone clicks in securely and connects directly via USB-C – no Bluetooth, no input lag and no controller battery to charge.

You play with precise analogue sticks, wide analogue triggers, responsive ABXY buttons and a completely redesigned D-pad for smoother, faster input – perfect for fast-paced action games, platformers and sports games. The Standard Edition comes in black with the classic ABXY layout and is compatible with Xbox Game Pass, Steam and Apple Arcade.

So you never have to stop during long gaming sessions, a USB-C pass-through port lets you charge your smartphone while you play. For wired audio, there is also a 3.5 mm headphone jack with microphone support – ideal for in-game chat without compromise.

The controller is compatible with iPhone (iOS 15 or later) and Android smartphones (Android 10 or later) with a USB-C port – so practically every modern smartphone. With the Play on Any Screen feature, the Backbone One can also be used as a wired controller for PCs, laptops or tablets via a USB-C cable.

The Backbone app brings your entire game library and streaming services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation Remote Play and Steam Link together in one clear interface. At the press of a button, you can jump straight into the app, take screenshots and remap your buttons – no subscription required.
